Practice Based Education

Practice Education Accreditation Scheme
(P.E.A.S.)
  • What is P.E.A.S?
It is a system to try to improve the quality of practice-based education.
  •  Who can apply?
Anyone within the practice who organises practice education
  •  What is the value of doing it?
It provides a structure, which should help with the development of practice-based education. It is supported by educational facilitators, who can come and help. The GP Tutor team will help to ‘underwrite’ the quality of the programme.

It will attract funding. (Practices which are accredited and where GPs are current full members of the WGPET, then during one year, provided that 8 events have occurred, £75 per GP member will be refunded to the practice)

  • Is application complicated?
No. It is a simple form, which can be completed with or without the help of an educational facilitator. So if you are already undertaking practice-based educational activities it is easy to do and you should benefit from it.
