Cheviot Road Surgery - 4-8 Session Partnership or Salaried Post

We are looking for one or two GPs to join our team at Cheviot Road Surgery.

We would prefer a partner or partners but are also open to salaried options.

We currently have 6 Partners and 1 salaried GP working at Cheviot Road, with a well- established loyal team of Practice Nurses, HCAs and reception/ administration staff.

Shirley Avenue and Cheviot Road Surgeries combined form a large partnership, consisting of 12 Partners and 1 Salaried GP, with a patient list of 15,500.

We are committed to providing continuity of care through our Personal List System, and consider this to be a very positive aspect of our practice for both patient and GP.

Our excellent level of patient satisfaction was evident in the 2021 GP Patient Survey in which we scored highest of all practices in Southampton (100% of patients describe their overall experience as good, local average is 77%).

As well as having happy patients we are also a team of doctors with high job satisfaction who enjoy working together.

We are well organised with an in-house programme of educational meetings and audit, along with long established high QoF achievement.

We are active in the West Southampton Primary Care Network with a partner involved as clinical director. We benefit from a PCN social prescriber, physiotherapist, pharmacist and mental health nurse working alongside our practice team onsite as well as Steps to Wellbeing practitioners.

Our Foundations

Living Well Partnership was formed in 2017 following the merger of four GP surgeries and three smaller branch sites. The GP partners were brought together by a growing awareness that we could deliver more streamlined medical care by sharing resources.

We are delighted that our patients have benefited from faster access to a larger range of services while achieving operational efficiencies behind the scenes, with dedicated specific teams to support clinicians working, for example call handling, patient services, and performance, to mention a few.

This Oct 2021 we had our ‘j-code’ merger allowing all of our 38,500 patients to be on one EMIS system and as a result are looking to expand our GP clinical teams in innovative ways, recognising that one box does not fit all!

Our Reach

We care for 38,500 adults and children across the eastern Southampton region. Our seven different sites ensure everyone has local GP access, from the inner city to the rural outskirts.

Our supportive clinical team is made up of 11 GP Partners, as well as 19 Non-Principal GPs including 5 retainers, employed directly by LWP. Our GPs work alongside Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, a Physician Associate, Health Care Assistants, Social Prescribers, Care Co-ordinators and our own in-house Pharmacy team.

Overview of Victor Street

We serve a community of 12,200 people in the West of Southampton in an urban area, and pride ourselves in delivering patient-first care alongside ambitious and innovative clinical and strategic leadership.  We drive changes from the front: we have a Clinical Director for our PCN, a GP trainer, an LMC rep, and a non-clinical Partner shaping strategy and development.

Our clinical team consists of 6 GPs, 2 Advanced Nurse Practitioners who deliver a mix of same day and long-term condition care, and do our acute home visits, and an excellent Practice Nursing Team who take the lead on managing long term conditions.

Our team is ever expanding through the support of the PCN. We have Social Prescribing link workers, first contact physiotherapy, a clinical pharmacist, a primary care mental health nurse and peer support workers, and a dedicated Enhanced Health to Care Homes team working alongside us. We are supported by reception Care Navigators, an administration team who deliver workflow optimisation, and by a strong senior management team.

  • Daily “down tools” tea break for clinical team to recharge and chat
